Campus notes: Youth Parliament organised
Amritsar: To make students of classes IX to XII aware of how members of Parliament discuss and debate different problems and how Bills are passed, a session of Youth Parliament was held at Revel Dale Public School. The role of the members of the treasury benches and that of Opposition was properly understood by the students. Through this activity students got to know the duties and responsibilities of the Parliamentarians. Growing students understood very well what they all need to expect from the members of Parliament. Parliamentary etiquette and decorum could be very well understood by the students. Students of the school dressed as parliamentarians, who expressed their viewpoints on the problems widely pervasive in our country. They were all full of zeal, passion and enthusiasm. All had been made fully aware of the constitutional norms that are required to be followed in parliament.
Interactive Session with NIIFT team
Spring Dale students interacted with the team of NIIFT (Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology), Mohali, in an enriching session on the field of fashion technology. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Spring Dale Educational society shared that a team of NIIFT, Mohali led by Dr Meeta Gawri, the Head of Admissions and Placement Department, NIIFT, Mohali, shared their vision about career opportunities in the field of fashion technology. Sandhu added that NIIFT, which was established in 1995 by the Government of Punjab, provides trained professionals to the apparel and fashion sector and that ever since its inception it has been among the top ranking fashion institutes in India. Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma said today’s session goes in line with Spring Dale’s vision of exploring the educational dynamism to equip its students with state of the art professional skills.
Inter-House Competition
Woodstock Public School, Batala, conducted Inter-House Competition on August 3, 2024 to kick-start the festivities of Teej on the school premises under the stewardship of the Principal Dr Ancy. The participants of all four houses Himalaya, Vindhya, Shivalik and Nilgiri performed with great zeal and gusto under the guidance of their captains. In the rangoli-making competition, Himalaya house secured the 1st and Shivalik house secured the 2nd position. In the mehndi competition, the first and second positions were bagged by Himalaya and Nilgiri House. In jhula-making and decoration, Shivalik House stood 1st and Nilgiri House stood the 2nd. The school foyer was sparkling with beautiful colours and designs which added to the festive galore.
CBSE Training Workshop
Principal of Shri Ram Ashram Public School, The Mall, Amritsar, Dr Vinodita Sankhyan led the training workshops which were organised in collaboration with the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Ladakh. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted these comprehensive training workshops for the principals and teachers of CBSE schools in Leh and Kargil, Ladakh. The sessions, held from July 29 to August 2, aimed to enhance “Learning Outcomes” and foster “Transformational Leadership” among school leaders. Principals from various CBSE schools in the region actively participated in the training, gaining valuable insights and expertise. The workshops focused on innovative strategies to improve student learning outcomes, effective school management, and leadership skills. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, discussions, and hands-on activities, enabling them to share best practices and adopt new approaches initiated by the CBSE. The CBSE and DIET, Ladakh, are committed to supporting educators in the region, ensuring quality education and empowering school leaders to drive positive change.
Girls shine in school games
The tug-of-war team of girls U-17 of Prabhakar won the trophy at the 68th Punjab School Games at Zone level held on 2nd August 2024. The proud winners were accorded a thumping welcome by Principal Rajesh Prabhakar, Madam Rachna Prabhakar and Col. Shiv Patyal along with all teachers and staff of the school on their arrival at the school.
Teej celebrated in school
Tarn Taran: Teej festival was celebrated at Guru Amar Dass Adarsh Institute, Goindwal Sahib on Monday with enthusiasm. The aim behind celebrating the festival was to keep the students connected to their Punjabi heritage. Girl students of the institute presented a special programme on the occasion in which Punjabi folk songs, giddha and bhangra were presented. Mannatdeep Kaur of Grade 12 and Khushdeep Kaur of Grade 12 were given the title of Teej Princess-2024. A mehndi competition was also organised to enhance the creativity of students.
