‘Capt’s efforts helped bring transparency in recruitments’

Raman Bahl, Chairman of the Punjab State Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSSB), has not only hailed the conferring of the ‘Ideal Chief Minister Award’ on Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh but also praised his efforts to make the PSSSSB a transparent body as compared to what was during the SAD-BJP rule.

While talking to The Tribune, Bahl said previous governments had vested the PSSSSB chief with certain discretionary powers which were normally misused by incumbent Chairmen.

“The CM has evolved such a system as only people with merit will get jobs through the PSSSSB. The selection of candidates and subsequent allocation of departments to them is now being done solely on merit. This process of meritocracy is being followed in letter and in spirit by the Board. It is due to the improvements and changes that the faith of the common man has been restored in the body,” said Bahl.
