In compliance with the instructions of SDM Amritsar-2, Mankanwal Singh Chahal, and under the guidance of Regional Transport Officer Khushdil Singh and Assistant Transport Officer Shalu Harchand, the Safe School Vahan Team conducted an awareness campaign and surprise inspections at various schools.

During the inspections, challans were issued to school buses that violated safe school commute regulations. The entire school transport committee, bus drivers, helpers and school heads were made aware of the Safe School Vahan policy, and instructions were issued to ensure strict compliance.

RTO Khushdil Singh and ATO Shalu Harchand emphasised that the government has ordered immediate and strict implementation of the policy.

As per the regulations, the principal or school head will be held accountable for any violations related to safe school commute. We have also made all school heads aware of the regulations through this awareness campaign, they said.
