Gangster Jassal Chambal, a resident of Chambal village (under Sarhali police station), has made a mobile phone call to a local chemist demanding extortion worth lakhs of rupees. He has also warned of eliminating him in case he denied to oblige him.

The victim, Nikhil Sood, in his complaint to the local police said that on October 20, the gangster had called his servant Manpreet Soni, a resident of Ferozepur city, to leave his job and return to his city.

Nikhil Sood said on December 13, the gangster called him demanding extortion worth lakhs of rupees and threatened to shoot him dead in case he did not pay him extortion money.

Gurmeet Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector, city police, said a case under Sections 308 (7) and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against gangster Jassal Chambal on Sunday.
