The Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences organised a one- day CME on paediatric hematology here on Saturday. The conference was presided over by Dr Narinder Singh, former head and founder of paediatric department at the institute.
Dr Narinder Singh said currently the institute was equipped with state of art, NICU, PICU and other facilities, which are the best in the state.
Dr Anupum Sachdeva from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, presented her paper on diagnosis of hemophillia and other bleeding disorders. Dr Amrita Trehan, in-charge, hematology unit, PGI, Chandigarh, discussed about blood transfusion in thalassemia major.
Dr Shurti Kakkar, DMC Ludhiana, expressed his views on iron overload, chelation and emergencies in paediatric oncology. Dr Daljit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, SGRD University, Dr AP Singh, Dean, Dr Manjit Singh Uppal, Director Principal and others were also present.
