Conflict within AAP affecting works: Malik
Former Rajya Sabha member Shwait Malik has lambasted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for prioritizing internal conflicts over the development of the North Assembly constituency. Malik pointed out that the proposal to include 12 panchayats of the Amritsar North constituency in the municipal corporation has been passed, but the AAP’s infighting has brought development to a grinding halt.
The situation is worrisome with issues like broken roads, neglected parks and poor sewerage and garbage management not being paid attention. Malik questioned the AAP’’s decision to punish the voters of North Assembly constituency for the party’’s internal conflicts.
He warned that the AAP’’s internal conflicts would lead to its downfall, citing the example of Delhi and predicting a “backbreaking defeat” for the party in Punjab in 2027. Malik challenged the AAP and the Congress to account for their development works in Amritsar, including the beautification of iconic sites like Sri Harmandir Sahib and the Jallianwala Bagh. In contrast, Malik highlighted the achievements during his terms as Mayor and MP.
