Congressmen led by former MLA Harminder Singh Gill, district president of the party, visited the flood- affected villages in Patti area farmers and listened to the problem of farmers. Party district president Gill said that the farmers and residents on a large scale complained of the negligent attitude of the state government and said that they have been totally deprived of flood relief. The resident said that no team of the Health Department and the veterinary wing was visiting the villages to check humans and vaccinate the cattle.

The residents alleged that relief is being distributed to some of the families associated with the sympathisers of the ruling AAP.

The farmers stressed that as their agricultural land has been covered with silt and sand brought by the riverwater, the government must make arrangements to remove it from the farmers’ land as it is necessary for the sowing the next wheat crop.
