Jalandhar, April 13
Baisakhi festivities in the city remained a low-key affair this year. People largely celebrated the festival indoors amid a curfew in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
The only public celebration outside Guru Nanak Mission gurdwara was a shower of flower petals on the priests dressed as ‘Panj Pyaras’. The ceremony was organised by a few Sikh activists. People took to the social media and posted the pictures of ‘jalebis’ and ‘sewiyan’ specially made for the occasion at home. — TNS
