As his family business in agri-commodities took a beating during the pandemic, Etin Sehgal (35) did not feel let down. He instead charted a new course by floating a new brand – Fig Tree – under which he started packing spices, herbs and nuts. “I set up a processing and packaging centre and directly and indirectly engaged around 50 persons.”

A commerce graduate, he is of the opinion that the pandemic shaped the mentality of consumers, making them more conscious of nutritious food and hygiene. The need for packaged food was felt during the pandemic.
