Dairy entrepreneurship training to begin on Feb 17
To increase earning opportunities for rural youth, the Dairy Training and Extension Centre, Verka, will hold a two-week dairy entrepreneurship training course from February 17.
The course will be for rural youth belonging to Amritsar. It will be conducted at the office of Deputy Director, Dairy Training and Extension Centre, Verka from February 17 to 28.
Giving information in this regard, Waryam Singh, Deputy Director, Dairy, said the two-week training course will offer an opportunity to diversify farming and increase the income of farmers.
Unemployed youth who have passed Class 10 and are in the age-group of 18 to 55 years, and belong to rural areas, can participate in the training. The department will provide subsidy for setting up dairy units of 2 to 20 animals through loan from various banks.
Practical demonstrations in animal management and breed improvement besides other relevant information about cattle rearing will be given in the training. Interested candidates can fill the form in the office of Deputy Director, Dairy, with their original certificate, passport size photographs and Aadhaar card.
