A delegation of Vimukt Jatis (Denotified Tribes) met Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh. The delegation was led by Dharambeer Singh Mahia, Chairman, Vimukt Jati Welfare Board, Punjab and Major Singh Keller to discuss the demands of the Vimukt Jatis. A memorandum was also presented to the Deputy Commissioner, addressed in the name of the Chief Minister, Punjab, The deputation demanded that a resolution be passed in the Vidhan Sabha to meet their demands like rollback of British era laws and inclusion of some sections in ST category.

The leaders of the Vimukt Jatis claimed that the Deputy Commissioner assured that their demands would be conveyed to the Chief Minister. In the meeting, Dharmbir Singh Mahia, Major Singh Keller, Balkar Singh Mahala Jandiala, Gajjan Singh, Ved Prakash Padda were among the leaders present.
