Dispose of applications in timely manner: DC to officials

Officials of 14 departments participated in a meeting of the District Level Approval Committee for approval of incentive cases of three proposed industrial units in the city held under the presidentship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman District Level Approval Committee Sakshi Sawhney.

After the details given by Manavpreet Singh General Manager-cum-Convener District Industries Center in the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner approved the applications of three new industrial units for various incentives, which included exemption from interest rate of loans, exemption from stamp duty, exemption from electricity duty and other incentives.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed that the applications received should be disposed of by the concerned departments in a timely manner.

On this occasion, General Manager Industries said that in order to encourage and promote industries in Punjab and generate employment, under the newly formulated Industrial Policy 2022 by the Punjab Government, industrial units are given exemption and reimbursement from stamp duty, exemption from land conversion External Development charges EDC and Change of Land Use (CLU), exemption from electricity duty, exemption from GST, reimbursement etc. and facilities of the Right to Business Act 2020.
