DLSA to hold National Lok Adalat on May 24
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has announced that it would hold a National Lok Adalat here on May 24. Earlier, the DLSA had announced that the Lok Adalat would be held on May 10 but it was later postponed due to tension at the international border with Pakistan.
District and Sessions Judge Amarinder Singh Grewal, who is also the chairman of District Legal Services Authority, said that the Lok Adalat is being organised to provide speedy justice to the litigants as per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA).
He said that different benches which would be constituted would settle the cases that are liable to be disposed of at the litigative and pre-litigative stage by mutual consent. He said that in the National Lok Adalat, cases related to pension, service, land acquisition, revenue, BSNL, insurance, bank loan, water bills, criminal compoundable matters, cheque bounce, motor accident claim, besides cases related to tribunal, marital disputes, traffic challans, labour dispute, electricity and other civil declaratory matters will be heard.
The District and Sessions Judge said that if there is any difficulty in filing a case in the National Lok Adalat, then the office of the District Legal Services Authority can be contacted on the phone number 0183-2220205. He said that litigants should avail the benefit of the National Lok Adalat to resolve their cases.
