Dream City Firing: Cross case registered, 3 from both sides held in Amritsar

A day after a firing incident was reported outside Dream City colony, in which a gym owner died and three others got injured, the Amritsar rural police have registered a cross case in the incident and booked three persons on the charge of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act.
The police have also arrested three persons, including prime suspect NRI Mohinderpal Singh, from both sides. All of them were currently under treatment in different private hospitals.
Besides Mohinderpal, the police also arrested Ranjodh Singh, alias Sunny Yamaha, and Charanjot Singh, alias Jigar, from the complainant’s side. The police have booked Michael, a coloniser and friend of Ranjodh Singh and Jigar in the cross case. It was Michael, who invited deceased gym owner Narinder Singh to his party.
SSP Amritsar Rural police Swarndeep Singh confirmed the development and Sunny Yamaha and Jigar were booked and arrested following the statement of Mohinderpal. Cops were deployed outside their rooms. Raids were on to nab the remaining suspects in the firing and murder case.
Narinder Singh was shot to death in the firing between two groups of property dealers at the entrance of Dream City colony near Manawala on the main Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road here late on Friday evening. The incident had left Sunny Yama, Charanjot Singh and NRI Mohinderpal injured.
On Charanjot’s statement, the Chattiwind police had booked Mohinderpal Singh, Inderpal Singh, Mukesh Seth, Kanwaljit Singh and their two unidentified accomplices. They were booked on the charge of murder, attempt to murder besides other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
As per the probe, the incident was an outcome of some monetary dispute between two colonisers including NRI Mohinderpal Singh and Michael.
Michael alleged that Mohinderpal along with his accomplices started firing in an inebriated condition and a bullet hit Narinder, Ranjodh and Charanjit. Narinder died on the spot, while Ranjodh and Charanjit also sustained bullet injuries.
Manmeetpal Singh, SHO, Chatiwind police station, said in the cross case, Mohinderpal had accused Michael and his accomplices of starting the quarrel and firing. He said further investigations were on to ascertain the facts.
