Drug peddler nabbed with 1-kg heroin

Acting on a tip-off, the Amritsar rural police have arrested a drug peddler with 1 kg of heroin. He was identified as Shagandeep Singh, alias Shagan, of Naushehra village falling under the Sarai Amanat Khan village in Tarn Taran district.

The police said he was arrested from Rajatal area when he was going to deliver the consignment of drugs on his bike (PB-46-AM-1655) which was also impounded.
A probe was on to find his backward and forward links and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against him.
