Edu Dept organises talent search contests for CWSN
The Education Department has launched district-level competitions in talent search and culture for children with special needs (CWSN) studying in government schools. Under the programme, competitions were also held in Amritsar with more than 50 students participating at the event hosted at BBK DAV College.
DEO (Elementary) Kanwaljit Singh, in his address, motivated the students to continue the process of learning through aided methods. Cultural performances were presented by the students with special needs from different blocks of the district, earning applause from the audience.
Earlier, as part of talent search, essay, drawing, painting and poetry recitation contests were organised for the students. DEO (Elementary) Kanwaljit Singh appreciated the art performances by children with special needs and said that one should learn from these children and strive to create one’s own unique identity in society with skills. The DEO (Elementary) also honoured the winners and students who took part in the competition.
The district has 99 Integrated Learning Centres that serve as initial learning labs for children with special needs.
