The Education Department has released a letter imposing restrictions on availing long leave to go abroad and child care leave for four months, starting from December. The orders are to be implemented for both the teaching and non-teaching staff. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, District Education Officer (Elementary), informed here on Monday that the secretary of the department has issued a letter in this regard recently. The DEO said that as the annual exam of the students is at hand and the education season is in full swing, the period was crucial for the future of the students for which the department has taken the step.

The DEO said that only cases of leave to go abroad and child care would be considered along with the certificate issued by the civil surgeon, that too by the secretary of the department. The secretary of the department has advised the employees to apply for leave only to go abroad to see their children during the summer vacation.
