Eight booked by police after man shot at in Naushehra Pannuan

Manpreet Singh (40), a resident of Naushehra Pannuan, was injured in a shootout on Sunday night by armed persons who sought revenge on his son, a student of Khalsa College, Amritsar. Manpreet Singh who received multiple gunshots, has been admitted to a local private hospital in serious condition. His condition is said to be stable. The Sarhali police have nominated eight persons as accused in the case. Three of the accused have been identified as Jobanpreet Singh Joban, Aishdeep Singh of Naushehra Pannuan and Gurdev Singh, a resident of Kalsian Kalan (Khalra).
In his statement to the police, Manpreet Singh said that the accused who had a verbal duel with his son Yadpreet Singh, called him to the village grain market on Sunday night. He along with his associates went to the spot where there were eight armed persons, including Jobanpreet Singh, Aishdeep Singh and Gurdev Singh. The accused opened fire at him and he received bullet injuries in his chest and front parts of the body. A police team led by ASI Gajjan Singh visited the spot and registered a case under Sections 109, 125, 351 (3), 3 (3), 19 (3), 190 and 324 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
