EPFO regional office settles 8,332 claims

Under the “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” programme organized by Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Regional Office, Amritsar, settled 8,332 claims in October.

At the camps held in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur and Pathankot on Monday, officials informed the participants about filing of advances, type of advances, how to file advances through portals, requirement of filing advances, excluded employees and voluntary contribution. In addition, grievances were resolved of PF subscribers.

Lokendra Singh, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, and Nodal Officers held discussions with employers and employees about the new scheme “Employment Linked Incentive” under the Prime Minister Package announced in Budget 2024. This will be based on enrolment in the EPFO focused on recognition of first time employees and support to employees and employers.

The Scheme-A offers direct benefit transfer of one month wage (up to 15,000) to first time employees in three instalments. Scheme-B offers incentive for new employment in manufacturing sector by direct payment to employers and employees to the contribution towards EPF for four years.Similarly, Scheme-C covers other sector employers for incentive of EPF contribution up to Rs 3,000 per month for two years. Additionally, grievances of employees and pensioners were also resolved on the spot.

The Regional Provident Fund Commissioner said out of 8,332 claims, 4,358 were settled within three days. Besides, pension was also paid to 57 new pension holders and 27,389 pensioners.
