Former Cong leader Manna visits slums

Former Congress leader Mandeep Singh Manna visited slums on Chamrang Road here on Thursday. Manna claimed that the authorities severed the power connections of shanties and slum dwellers were forced to live in dark. “There are a total of 90 shanties on Chamrang Road where a fire broke out in June 2019. Over 300 persons were residing in dark here as the authorities severed their power connections. Besides, the area cries for basic,” claimed Manna.

Manna had written to Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for the allotment of flats to the slum dwellers. He also cut a New Year cake with children there.
