Following the announcement by Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukt Kisan Morcha, activists of these organisations are likely to organise a two-hour ‘rail roko’ agitation tomorrow. They are protesting on the third anniversary of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, where eight people, including four farmers and a journalist, were killed in 2021 during a protest against the now-repealed three farm laws.

The rail rook is likely to further bring down the traffic movement from the Amritsar railway station, where several trains have already been cancelled, short originated, short terminated and diverted after redevelopment work carried out at the Jalandhar Cantonment railway station.
