The Kisan Mazdoor Sangarsh Committee (KMSC) is gearing up for a motorcycle rally on August 11 to protest against the Punjab Government’s land pooling policy.

In the run-up to the event, KMSC leaders have held meetings across the district to mobilise support. The rally will start at Jandiala Guru Mandi at 7 am and will pass through several villages, including Nwa Kot, Nijjerpura, Rajewal and Mannawala, among others.

Sarwan Singh Pandher, general secretary of the KMSC, said, “The objective is to pressurise the Punjab Government to stop the land pooling policy, which we believe is unjust and undemocratic.” He added that the rally would visit each village in the district affected by the policy.

Pandher emphasised that farmers are ready to escalate their agitation if demands are not met. “We will not give up our land without a fight. The government needs to understand that farmers are not willing to hand over their land under the current terms,” he said.

Pandher also announced that the motorcycle rally on August 11 will be followed by a mass rally in Jalandhar on August 20.
