A retired CRPF personnel shot and killed his own son in broad daylight outside the Majitha Road Police Station on Friday.

The accused also opened fire on his first wife and daughter-in-law, leaving both injured. The incident is believed to have stemmed from a long-standing marital dispute.

According to police sources, the accused, a retired CRPF employee and resident of Rajasansi, also owns a house in Nehru Colony on Majitha Road. He had been married twice, and his first wife along with their son and daughter-in-law were reportedly heading to the police station to file a complaint against him.

Upon learning of this, the accused intercepted them outside the Majitha Road Police Station. During a heated argument, the accused pulled out his licensed revolver and opened fire. His son died on the spot, while his wife and daughter-in-law sustained bullet injuries.

Police personnel stationed at a nearby ‘naka’ swiftly intervened and apprehended the accused. The injured were rushed to the hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Senior police officials reached the scene and confirmed that a murder case has been registered. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
