Amritsar: Students of the District Institute of Education and Training, Ferozepur, conducted a successful tour to know the historical importance of social, educational and religious places of Amritsar as per the guidelines of Principal Seema. Starting from the historical Gurdwara Saragarhi, the students also visited Pingalwara’s Manawala campus. Master Rajbir Singh, horticulture expert at Pingalwara’s organic farms, gave information about natural farming mission. President of Global Punjabi Heritage Foundation Bhupinder Singh Sandhu said, “We must take care of marginalised sections of society because it is our duty to save social values.” Dr Amarjoti Mangat asked the trainees to be ready to help the needy. The trainees spent a lot of time meeting the students at Pingalwara’s school and other wards. They also visited Jallianwala Bagh, Rambagh, Sri Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Temple and the orphanage at Khalsa College and Putli Ghar.
Children with special needs honoured
Spring Dale School honoured and celebrated the of exceptional academic performance of CBSE Class X and XII results of the Children With Special Needs enrolled under inclusive education programme of the school. Surpassing all odds, these kids were able to make their mark with all 12 students in Class X and eight students in Class XII, scoring within the appreciable range of 81 per cent to 93.4 per cent and 71 per cent to 88 per cent, respectively. Among several facilities taken up for the purpose of inclusive education, a key feature is “individualised education programme” designed by special educator catering to imparting education to up to 100 per cent or total disability like autism, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, visual impairment and specific learning disability. Special educator of the school Prerna Khanna and Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma celebrated with students and wished them the best for future endeavours.
Prizes given to meritorious students
Gurinder Singh Matu, President of Maan Tien Te Samaj Kalali Society, organised an award ceremony in which chief guest SDM Rajesh Kumar honoured students who got more than 90 per cent marks in Class VIII in PSEB. He gave cash prizes and mementoes the students of DR Modern Senior Secondary School. The students included Taranpreet Kaur (96 per cent), Kuljit Singh (94 per cent) and Jashnpreet Kaur (93 per cent). Principal Ravi Pathania, Managing Director Daljit Pathania and Vice-Principal Himani Pathania extended their best wishes to the students and wished them similar success in future too.
Students given prizes
Tarn Taran: Students of Class X and XII of Dashmesh Parivar International School, Daburji, who excelled in exams, were honoured at a function organised on the school complex on Tuesday. The school is affiliated with the CBSE. Jaswant Singh Khalsa, Chairman of the school managing committee, said Class XII students who scored good marks include Ramandeep Singh (97%), Abhainoor Singh (95%) (non-medical) and Simranjit Kaur (93%) (Humanities). School Principal Charanjit Kaur said the students who scored good marks in Class X were also given prizes at the function. The parents of the students too attended the function.
Kargil Vijay Diwas observed
Revel Dale Public School, Rangarh Attari, paid a reverential tribute to Kargil soldiers by observing Kargil Vijay Diwas. Students, teachers and principal of the school spoke on the sacrifices made by the brave Kargil warriors during the Kargil war in 1999. Satnam Singh, a Kargil warrior, was the chief guest. His presence was a great source of inspiration for the students. A choreographed performance to project the patriotic fervour of the Kargil soldiers was presented by the school students.
Students shine in CBSE results
The students of Stalwarts World School excelled in Class X and XII CBSE examinations. Srishti of Class X scored 99 per cent marks and Ayam Seth secured 98 per cent marks. Five students scored more than 97 per cent marks. Eight students scored more than 95 per cent marks. Students secured 100 per cent marks in information technology, Punjabi, Hindi, maths, science and English. In Class XII, the students secured 99 per cent marks in physical education, dance and painting and 95 per cent marks in informatics practices, chemistry, physics, English, science and mathematics. The management, principal and staff congratulated the students for their achievement and wished them best for future endeavours. The overall result of school remained 100 per cent.
Kids celebrate Mango Day
Students of Shri Ram Ashram Public School, The Mall, marked the Mango Day by dressing up in colour of the king of fruits. Students of nursery and LKG celebrated the day in their own colours by wearing beautiful dresses in the shape of mango and yellow colour. An exhibition was also organised in which items like mango papad, fruity, mango cake, ice cream, mango shake, mango toffee, mango pickle etc attracted everyone. The teachers were also dressed in yellow clothes. School Principal Vinodita Sankhyan appreciated the children who came in beautiful mango-shaped costumes and she made them aware of the properties of mango fruit and its health benefits. She said mango has a special place among all fruits. It is the main source of vitamin A, C and D and it is rich in nutrients.
Board results celebrated
Students of Angel’s Public School, Mamun, made the school proud by getting good marks in CBSE results. In Class XII, Nainika Sharma bagged the first position in the state with a score of 99.6 per cent and Nandini Chaudhary bagged the second position in the state with a score of 99.4 per cent. In class X, Priya Suri, district topper, scored 98.8 per cent. Principal Shivalika Dhillon congratulated the toppers for making the school proud.
Bhavan’s SL wins karate championship
Students of Bhavan’s SL Public School participated in a karate championship hosted by the Karate Association of Amritsar. Twentyfive students from the school participated in different category events, in which eight students won gold medal, 10 students won silver and seven students won bronze medals. Principal-Director Anita Bhalla congratulated the students on their achievement and encouraged them to perform well at more sporting events. /OC
