Firing over minor tiff leaves two injured

Two persons were on Saturday injured after they were fired at by another group of youths at IceCream Lounge on Lawrence Road.

They victims were identified as Simarjit Singh and Bikramjit Singh, both residents of Roop Nagar area falling under Gate Hakima police station.

They had come to have some dessert after meal at IceCream Lounge.

According to the police, two groups at the lounge started quarrelling over a minor issue of touching shoulders. Soon things turned ugly and one of the groups started firing.

The police said later, they fled from the spot.

After a preliminary investigation, the police registered a case of murder bid against Varun Kalia, alias Chocho, and Gaurav Chhabra, of Gokul Avenue and Shashtri nagar area, respectively.

The suspects were identified with the help of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras inside the lounge.

The police said raids were on to arrest the suspects.
