The Nehru Youth Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence organised a Fit India Freedom Run in several villages of the district today. The local NSS volunteers and Youth Club officials will be organising the run in 75 towns and villages of different blocks in Amritsar district alone, out of which 35 villages were covered till today. The first run in the series was held on August 13 from Jallianwala Bagh to Company Bagh.

On Saturday, villages, including Kotla Doom, Rayya village, Khilchian, Bhorachi Brahmana, Ratangarh, Tangra, Tarasika, among others hosted the run where people from all age groups took part. — TNS
