The police have seized a huge quantity of illicit liquor from Swaraj Singh of Raishiana village, who was a personal assistant of former Khadoor Sahib Congress MLA on Wednesday.

SHO Chohla Sahib Vinod Kumar said 99 litres of liquor was seized from a car.

The suspect managed to escape from the spot, the SHO added. According to the police, the car was signalled to stop at a naka near Billianwala village. The suspect, Swaraj Singh, abandoned the car and managed to escape from the spot.

The police said that earlier, 80 cases (960 bottles) of liquor were seized from the possession of Swaraj Singh on June 4, 2023 and then too, he had managed to flee.
