Former SAD MLA Amarpal Singh Bony Ajnala's associate gets extortion call

Gangsters are allegedly targeting persons ‘close to former SAD MLA Amarpal Singh Bony Ajnala’ for extortion money.
This time, Rakesh Bedi, a resident of Ajnala, lodged a complaint with the police that a person identified himself as gangster Vicky Brar and demanded Rs 5 lakh extortion from him and also from former MLA Bony Ajnala.
The police have registered a case under Section 506 of the IPC in this connection and launched further probe.
Bedi told the police that he got a WhatsApp call, in which the caller identified himself as a mediaperson and sought the contact number of Bony Ajnala. As he did not have his personal number, he gave him the contact number of Sandeep Kumar, who is close to the former MLA. Sandeep also got a call from a caller posing as a mediaperson who sought the contact number of Ajnala for an interview. He refused as he did not have his number.
Rakesh said later in the evening, he got a voice recording, in which the sender identified himself as Vicky Brar and asked to convey the message to Bony to cough up Rs 5 lakh. He asked him to give the same amount threatening him of dire consequences in case he fails to do so.
Earlier, too, the SAD MLA has approached the police for getting threat and extortion calls from one Bhinda, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Ranjit Avenue police here registered a case under Sections 387 and 506 of the IPC on June 18.
Earlier, he had approached the police and the court for reviewing and enhancing his security after getting threat from gangsters for testifying as witness in a drug case being investigated by a SIT.
