The CIA staff of Amritsar Rural police have arrested four persons in two cases and seized 505 gm heroin, apart from Rs 2 lakh alleged drug money, from their possession.

The police authorities said that the police arrested Gaurav Sharma, alias Bablu of Chander Colony, Jhabal road, and seized the contraband from his possession. He was coming from Bandala to Jandiala, when he was intercepted near Jai resort in Jandiala.

“He was signalled to stop by a police party, but he tried to take a U-turn in order to escape, but his scooter, which was without a number plate, slipped and he was nabbed. On frisking him, a packet containing the contraband was seized from him,” said Sub Inspector Rajbir Singh, investigating officer in the case.

Meanwhile, the rural police have arrested three persons, including two Ludhiana residents, and seized Rs 2 lakh drug money from them. They have been identified as Sahilpreet Singh and Krishan Kumar of Shimlapuri in Ludhiana and Harwinder Singh of Khalsa Nagar in Chatiwind area. The police also seized 5 gm of contraband from them.

Two separate cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against them and further investigation was on.
