The police have arrested four snatchers within hours of reporting of two incidents. The Division A police arrested Gagandeep Kumar, alias Gangu, a resident of Chawinda Devi village, and Vishaldas, alias Lucky, a resident of Chabba. The police recovered snatched mobile phones from them.

Sharing details, Alam Vijay Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (DCP), Law and Order, said Muskan Kaur, a resident of the Majitha road, told the police that she was returning home from a boutique near Shivala Temple where she worked. The complainant said when she reached near Batala Road T-point, two youth came on a bike and snatched her mobile phone yesterday. The police registered an FIR and launched a probe in this connection. The DCP said following investigation, the police identified and arrested the suspects within hours of the incident.

In the second incident, the Chheharta police arrested two snatchers with the help of onlookers. The duo had snatched a purse from Sanjit Kumar Yadav, a resident of Chheharta. He was paying for fruits bought from a shop when two bike-borne persons came there from the Chungi side and snatched his purse. The suspects were identified as Manpreet Singh, alias Giani, and Manpreet Singh, alias Rohit, both residents of Sarai Amanat Khan in Tarn Taran district.
