Function to mark Yoga Shakti Day held in women’s college
The 13th Women’s Yoga Shakti Day was celebrated by the Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan in the city on Sunday. A function was organised in this regard in the premises of the local BBK DAV College for Women, in which the president of Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan, Desraj, presented his views on gynaecological diseases and yoga.
Desraj said yoga gives the message of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ (entire world one family) and by following this message, it can become the path to world peace. He suggested that yoga should be adopted as a subject in schools and colleges. There should be practical and theory exams in this subject, he said, adding that the governments should also cooperate in this work. He praised the present government at the Centre for promoting yoga.
In today’s time, due to hectic lifestyle, people suffer from many types of disorders and diseases, and yoga can help keep the body and mind healthy.
