Future Tycoons, a pilot project launched by the district administration to encourage entrepreneurship and create a conducive start up environment, is being promoted through awareness activities.

Today, a seminar was organised at DAV Senior Secondary School, Hathi Gate. Tirthpal Singh, Deputy CEO of the District Employment Office, said, “Future Tycoons programme is a golden opportunity for all those people, who have the best business ideas but are unable to implement them due to lack of money and guidance.”

He said students should take advantage of this opportunity. “The administration is getting a huge response and many people have sent their applications. If you have a business idea, you can submit it by registering on portal. We have different categories created for students, youth, women, businessmen and people associated with tourism industry,” he added.

The Deputy CEO pointed out that the district administration had been trying to give an opportunity to aspiring entrepreneurs to show their skills by providing help in getting financial assistance. He said the project ranked first would get a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and those in second and third place would get Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.

The administration has made IIM-Amritsar and several other agencies stakeholders in ensuring the Future Tycoons programme gets implemented with ease.
