Future Tycoons: Young entrepreneurs ready to pitch final ideas in Amritsar on June 30
Future Tycoons, a project helmed by Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney to encourage start-ups and entrepreneurship among the young generation, will host its final pitch ceremony on June 30. Under the project, interested candidates were asked to submit ideas for start-ups and 200 shortlisted participants were mentored and trained by industry insiders before the final pitch.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora will be the chief guest and give away cash prizes to the winners. Sawhney, while chairing a meeting in this regard today, said the project is dedicated to support aspiring business-minded youth, who can turn their ideas into impactful ventures. For this, practical training and expert advice on real-world business challenges were imparted to the participants during the two-month training period. “Around 1,300 people applied under the six categories in the Future Tycoons initiative. Winners in each category will be awarded with cash prizes, which will act as seed money for the pitched ideas. They can also find investors as organisations, including FICCI FLO chapter, and other entrepreneurs from city would be present during the ceremony,” she said.
The team of mentors and supporting partners include District Industries Centre General Manager, Manavpreet Singh; industrialists Pyara Lal Seth and Sandeep Khosla; the FICCI FLO chairperson, Mona Singh; GNDU mentor Harkirandeep Kaurl; Meenakshi Khanna from Phulkari, Women of Amritsar; and the Deputy CEO from the District Employment and Business Bureau, Tirathpal Singh.
