Gangster Dasuwal’s 2 aides held for demanding Rs 30 lakh ransom
Three days after a gangster Prabh Dasuwal was booked for allegedly demanding Rs 30 lakh ransom from a goldsmith, the Division B police have arrested two persons, including a woman in the case.
The accused have been identified as Rajdeep Singh, alias Raja, of Daburji village in Tarn Taran and Kajal of Majitha village in Tarn Taran.
“Raja was in contact with Dasuwal and provided him information about the movements of the victim,” said, Investigating Officer Sukhbir Singh.
Lovepreet Singh of New Partap Nagar on the Sultanwind road told the police that he he got a call from a virtual number.
The caller identified himself as Prabh Dasuwal and demanded Rs 30 lakh while threatening to kill his father Sarabjit Singh and his son in case he failed accede to his demand.
Later, the accused sent a video and picture of our house, said Lovepreet, adding that he got a voice message in which the caller used abusive language and threatened to kill his father and son.
The victim’s father also got a call from another number demanding ransom.
On analysing CCTV footage, the police found a girl recording video and picture of the victim’s house and fleeing from the spot on a car.
Raja was arrested on Friday from near Vallah vegetable market. As Raja dodged cops while being taken to a washroom, a separate case has been registered against him in this regard.
Raja’s interrogation led to the identification of Kajal, who recorded the video. She was arrested from her aunt’s home from Gilwali Gate.
