Girl abducted, one booked

Tarn Taran: Rajbir Singh, a resident of Deep Avenue, abducted a 20-year-old-girl from Fatehbad village on Tuesday. Father of the girl in his complaint to the police said the accused had abducted his daughter who after clearing IELTS exam, procured Australian Visa. The accused has been booked under Section 346 of the IPC by the Goindwal Sahib police. OC

KVK organises farm loan event

Tarn Taran: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, in collaboration with State Bank of India, organised a credit linkage programme ‘Krishi Rinn Samagam’ on Wednesday. Tarn Taran Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh; Parkash Singh Brar, Director Extension Education, GADVASU; and Chander Shekhar Sharma, General Manager, State Bank of India; delivered a loan letter of Rs 3.25 crore for 100 agriculture and livestock borrowers. The borrowers were provided training in the field of dairy, piggery, poultry, fisheries and other allied enterprises. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the KVK and the SBI for taking such initiative. Sharma assured farmers that such initiatives would be taken in the future as well. Dr Brar said unemployed youth have great career opportunities in livestock sector with scientific technologies. Dr Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director, KVK, highlighted the efforts of the KVK, Booh, for upliftment of unemployed youth. OC

2 steal 100-gm gold, booked

Tarn Taran: Around a year ago, a married woman of Tharu village escaped from her in-laws’ house after stealing 100-gram gold and Rs 50,0000 along with her paramour. The accused had been identified as Kulwinder Kaur and Karamjit Singh of Peeru Wala (Ferozepur). On Tuesday, the police booked the accused on the basis of the inquiry report. Father-in-law of Kulwinder in his complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police said the accused ran away jewellery and cash on March 8, 2020. The accused have been been booked under Sections 380 and 34 of the IPC. OC
