Global orthopaedic experts converge at Amritsar for knee & hip course
Amandeep Hospital, in partnership with Ujala Cygnus Healthcare Services and Amritsar Orthopaedics Forum (AOF), successfully hosted the 2nd Edition of the Punjab Knee & Hip Course from September 20 to September 21 at Taj Swarna, Amritsar.
After the resounding success of its first edition, this year’s programme once again brought together leading national and international experts in the field of orthopaedics who shared advancements, practical knowledge and surgical skills in knee and hip treatments.
The programme was designed to offer an engaging mix of live surgical demonstrations, case discussions, lectures and interactive sessions focused on the latest techniques and innovations in knee and hip surgeries. The course served as a unique platform for orthopaedic surgeons, postgraduate students and healthcare professionals to exchange insights and enhance their clinical expertise.
Speaking about the event, Dr Avtar Singh, Organising Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, Amandeep Hospital and Ujala Cygnus, said, “The Punjab Knee & Hip Course reflects our commitment to advancing orthopaedic education and surgical excellence. We are proud to see such enthusiastic participation from surgeons across India and abroad. This collaboration of ideas and expertise will undoubtedly help in improving patient outcomes and strengthening the orthopaedic community.”
The conference witnessed participation from eminent orthopaedic surgeons, including Dr Inderdeep Singh, Dr Baba Ji Thorat, and other leading faculty from across the country, alongside hundreds of delegates comprising surgeons, residents and healthcare professionals. The event also welcomed distinguished international faculty members – Dr Akhil Peter Verheyden (Germany), Dr Chandhana R Karunathilake (Sri Lanka), Martin Zimmermann (Switzerland) and Dr Pierattilio Giovanni Lupi (Italy) – who shared their global expertise and enriched the academic discussions.
With participation from such distinguished experts, the event became a landmark in strengthening the orthopaedic fraternity and advancing standards of care for patients with knee and hip conditions.
From just a five-bedded hospital, Amandeep Hospital has grown to more than 750 operational beds and a team of over 170 distinguished surgeons and physicians, who have transformed more than 5 lakh lives. The Amandeep Group has six branches, with two located in Amritsar and one each in Pathankot, Ferozepur, Srinagar and Tarn Taran.
