Residents of street No. 5C, Gopal Nagar, are getting contaminated potable water supply for the last four months. Despite regular complaints to officials concerned of the municipal corporation (MC), the issue remains unresolved.

Irked residents had written to the water and sewerage wing of the MC to provide them clean drinking water on January 11. The application was marked to the staff concerned, but no one from the MC visited the area to address the issue.

Pawan Kumar, a resident of street No. 5C, Gopal Nagar, said the problem of contaminated water supply started around four months ago. They submitted a complaint to the MC in this regard. The staff of water and sewerage wing of the MC visited the area and tried to rectify the issue. When they didn’t find leakage in supply pipes, the staff dug up the street and found the point from where water leaked.”

“Finally, we received clean water for 10 days. But, the water started getting contaminated again. We are regularly asking officials concerned to address the issue, but no one is hearing us. Last Friday, we met civic body officials and they had assured to address the problem on Monday. But no one visited the area today,” said another resident of the area.
