Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has urged the people to actively participate in the state government’s anti-drug movement, aiming to make Punjab a true follower of the teachings of the great Gurus, who advocated for a simple and righteous way of life.

The minister made this appeal while addressing a public gathering in Lauhka village on Saturday, as part of the state-wide ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh’ initiative.

In his address, the Bhullar said that the AAP-led state government is working to clear the legacy of drug abuse left behind by previous governments, which, he alleged, were hand in glove with the drug smugglers.

He added that the police have been given a free hand to act against drug traffickers, resulting in continuous and substantial drug seizures. He said that the state government is committed to eradicate the drug menace from the state.

He warned the drug smugglers to abandon their harmful activities or go underground, as the current government is committed to the welfare of the people. The minister also addressed public meetings in Nathutchak and Sarhali Khurd and reiterated the government’s stance on eradicating drug abuse from the state.

MLAs Dr Kashmir Singh Sohal (Tarn Taran), Manjinder Singh Lalpura (Khadoor Sahib) and Sarwan Singh Dhun (Khemkaran) also led ‘Nasha Mukti Yatras’ in their constituencies.
