Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Baba Bakala Assembly constituency Dalbir Singh Tong said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has promised to provide compensation for the loss caused to the people in flood-affected areas.

He said that the floods have caused huge damage to the crops of farmers, livelihood of workers, livestock and families in many areas. “The Chief Minister has issued special orders so that due compensation can be given after taking a complete inventory of the loss of farmers’ crops, houses, livestock and other goods,” said Tong.

The government will deploy special teams at the ground level for inventory inspection, which will go door to door to inspect the damage caused to the victims. The MLA

said that the main objective of the government is to get the people back on their feet so that they can start their lives with renewed vigour.

Tong also said that all kinds of assistance will be provided to the flood-affected people, be it financial or other necessary facilities.
