BJP workers lodged a strong protest here on Monday against the AAP government in Punjab for allegedly trying to curb its political activities in the state.

District BJP president Harjit Singh Sandhu said the party was presenting the real state of affairs prevailing in Punjab during Bhagwant Mann tenure at the helm.

Alleging that it has failed on all fronts, Sandhu said there was hardly any day when drug-related news was not published by the media. It shows that drugs are easily available and the smugglers have maintained their supply line, he added.

Sandhu said the law and order situation had deteriorated and residents had been left at the mercy of gangsters and anti-social elements.

Sandhu said the government was thinking of shutting down the outreach camps being managed by the BJP to make the citizens aware of the welfare schemes of the Modi government at the Centre. He said the BJP had succeeded in establishing contacts at the grassroots level.
