Gurdaspur college ranked 1st among 430 institutions

The National EduTrust of India has conferred the prestigious District Green Championship award upon Pt Mohan Lal SD College for Women. The Gurdaspur-based college triumphed over 430 institutes across the country. The ceremony was held recently at the Chitkara University, Rajpura.

This award is given to colleges which demonstrate leadership in environmental consciousness and are a part of the trust’s efforts to promote sustainable environmental practices among educational institutes.

The National EduTrust of India is a government body which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

College Principal Dr Neeru Sharma was given the ‘Best Principal’ award, while Samita Khajuria was conferred upon the ‘Best Teacher and Coordinator’ award. Dr Rajwant Kaur was given a letter of appreciation. In all, 13 principals were honoured for their contributions in the fields of sustainability, environmental protection and innovative methods adopted in education.

Samarth Sharma, CEO of the National EduTrust of India, exhorted principals and teachers to inspire a positive change in the educational ecosystem.
