Dr Ritika Sharma, a Gurdaspur-based girl, has been honoured with the Major General Amir Chand bronze medal for her work in the field of haematology by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. She was honoured with the award during the 37th convocation of the PGI held at Chandigarh on Saturday.

Her research in haematology is a boon for patients suffering from bleeding disorders. Doctors say her contributions are invaluable to both contemporary clinical practices.
