Amritsar, April 15
With a view to train religious preachers, teachers and raagis, a new Gurmat Study Centre was inaugurated at Khalsa College on Thursday. Housed in a two-story building, the centre will offer three years degree courses and diplomas in ‘Gurmat’ (Sikh religion) to students free of cost.
Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) president Satyajit Singh Majithia and secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, who inaugurated the centre, said the aim was to train the students in religious preaching and recitals of Gurbani. “It will be a full-fledged three year course and special attention will be paid to train the students in various foreign languages so that they can address the persons from other countries and regions’’ easily,” said Majithia.
Chhina said the Centre will help the students to get top-class training in gurmat education and the course for which entrance test will be conducted will be free of any cost to students and rather the meritorious students will get stipends also. —
