Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) students have got work placement in multinational companies, with the highest salary package of Rs 44 lakh per annum being offered by Amazon. In a special meeting with the VC, recruited students interacted with Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu and discussed the potential job prospects. Pawandeep Kaur, a student of BTech CSE, has been selected by Amazon on a package of Rs 33.26 lakh per annum and 143 Restricted Stock Units of the company. Another student, Aastha has been placed in Walmart at Rs 23.39 lakh per annum. Rohit Oberoi has been selected by Josh Technology at Rs 18 lakh per annum. Five students Pranshu Sharma, Sanjoli, Sachnoor Kaur, Simranjeet Kaur and Akshit Sahore have been currently undergoing internship at Rs 50,000 per month at Zscaler company and their confirmation will be done in the end of July at a package of Rs 17.50 lakh per annum.

Career guidance session held

In order to facilitate students of Class IX to XII to take a vital decision at this crucial juncture of life, Holy Heart Presidency School organised a career guidance session in collaboration with Mindler for subject selection and career choice. Prikshit Dhanda, Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Mindler and Abhishek Gulati, Manager for Growth Strategy and Global Education at Mindler, conducted an expert session and gave valuable guidance to the students. The session not only motivated students but also the faculty to unleash their potential and achieve success in all spheres of life.

17 DAV students qualify JEE-Main

A total of 17 students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, qualified the JEE (Main) held in June. Nipun Nohria secured 99.91 percentile. Other students who qualified the prestigious exam are Saaransh Sharma (99.88 percentile), Abhinav Gupta (99.59 percentile), Devkaran Singh Sarkaria (99.25 percentile), Heerak Kashyap (97.97 percentile), Jaspinder Singh (97.89 percentile), Jyotansh Mohindru (97.53 percentile), Sheetal Mehan (96.39 percentile), Chandranshu Bhardwaj (94.50 percentile), Saksham Anand (94.13 percentile), Bhavya Gera (93.6 percentile), Naman Arora (93.69 percentile), Shivam Arora (93.31 percentile), Harkirat Chadha (92.92 percentile), Geetansh Mohindru (92.39 percentile), Ekroop Kaur Gill (91.98 percentile) and Harshit Arora (91.6 percentile).

A+ NAAC grade for institute

Global Group of Institutes has been awarded the rating of A+ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which places it among the 5 per cent Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in India to be granted such a coveted grade. The institutes scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.27 on four-point scale. The NAAC Peer Team was headed by Dr Hans Raj Sharma, Pro-VC, Central University of Himachal Pradesh as Chairman.

Meritorious students lauded

Shri Ram Ashram Public School lauded its students for scoring well in the JEE (Main). Nine students secured good results in the examination. Harpreet Singh secured 99. 92 percentile, Shivansh Mangal 99.90, Keshav Arora 96.8, Ayush Sharma 94.71, Garv Shingari 93.38, Soham 93.25, Mohit Gupta 90.51, Danish Sharma 80.65 and Aradhya Sharma 78.36. Principal Dr Vinodita Sankhyan congratulated the students and their parents on their marvellous success.

Over 11K register for BEd CET

Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, has begun preparations to conduct state-level Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to BEd colleges in the state. Prof (Dr) Amit Kauts, Coordinator, BEd CET-2022 said so far, over 11,000 candidates have registered on the admission portal and the figure may touch 14,000 in the next three days before the last date of application i.e. July 15. The candidates can download their admit cards from their dashboard on the admission portal. The process of finalising examination test centres for the conduct of the CET on July 31 has been finalised in consultation with the State Education Department. A dedicated helpline for the benefit of candidates and participating institutions is working continuously to redress their problems. The answer key of the CET will be uploaded on the portal on August 1.

Teacher completes NCC training

Tarn Taran: Karamjit Kaur, a Hindi teacher at Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School (being managed by the Chief Khalsa Diwan), Jhabal, was given a warm welcome in the school here on Wednesday. She returned after completing her training from the NCC Officers’ Training Academy in Gwalior (MP). Urminder Kaur, Principal of the school, said Karamjit Kaur, under the flagship of 11th Punjab Battalion by Col Karnail Singh, completed her course of PRCN. As many as 112 candidates from various states participated in various courses of Army wing, Naval wing, SW and GCI wing. Karamjit Kaur learnt various activities like map reading, firing, drill, etc. She also led her state by participating in various cultural programmes and in academics she scored 72 per cent marks. Manjit Singh Dhillon, Jatinderbir Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Ramneek Singh, Freedom Members in-charge of the school management committee, appreciated the teacher for her sincere and remarkable performance in the NCC training. /OC
