Amritsar, January 13
Over 200 handicraft artisans from 17 states have displayed a range of handicraft articles in the exhibition organised by the Central Government’s ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment here on Friday.
The 10-day exhibition named Shilp Samagam entered the second day on Saturday. The exhibition aims to empower people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes categories. The first Shilp Samagam is being organised by the Central Government and the National Safai Karamchari Finance and Development Corporation, Government of India.
Rajan Sehgal, Managing Director, National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, Pratima Gupta, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, inaugurated the exhibition.
Officials of the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation, National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment were also present during the inauguration.
