Talwandi Sabo, March 6
Former Union minister and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said it was shameful that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had not only lowered the prestige of the Vidhan Sabha, but had also played a fraud on Punjabis by refusing to allocate funds to fulfil the promises made to women or implement the Old Pension Scheme.
Talking to mediapersons at Chathe Wala village in this constituency, Harsimrat said the CM had taken the Assembly debates to a new low by name-calling opponents and blatantly issuing threats and misbehaving with them. “Even street-level goons don’t behave in this way,” she said, adding that “the entire state is feeling ashamed that the reins of power are in the hands of such an unworthy person”.
The Bathinda MP said, “The CM had promised to give Rs 1,000 per month to all women in the state two years back, but it has failed to implement this promise.” Later, the Bathinda MP also visited Sheikhpura, Nangla, Natheha and Golewala villages in Talwandi Sabo assembly area in the district.
