Eklavya School
Amritsar: Eklavya School organised a hawan ceremony to seek the blessings of almighty for the board results. The hawan had a purifying effect on the students, educators and the environment. The panditji chanted mantras. Seema Handa, director, Komal Arora, principal, Dimple Malhotra, administrator, and the educators made offering into the fire, which re-energised and had a rejuvenating effect for both the body and mind. Seema Handa showered her blessings on students and conveyed that the school was looking forward for good results. Komal Arora wished the students good luck for final exams. The ceremony came to an end with the distribution of sweets.
CJS Public School
CJS Public School organised a farewell function ‘Karavan Yaadon Ka’ for the students of Class XII. Students of class XI assembled to bid farewell to the current students of Class XII. Principal Ravi Suta along with the head boy and head girl welcomed chairperson Neeta Mittal by presenting a bouquet as token of regard. RC Mahendru presided over the function as guest. The function started with farewell song. This was followed by cultural programmes. Class 1XII students displayed their talent in the modelling round. The title of CJS was won by Taranpreet Singh and Miss CJS title was clinched by Paramjot Kaur. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performances given by the students of Class XI. The programme ended with a speech by Principal Ravi Suta.
DAV College
Punjabi Sahit Sabha DAV College hosted a special speech dedicated to the mother tongue Punjabi. Renowned folk singer Sukhminder Kaur Brar, popularly known as Sukhi Brar, delivered a speech on the theme ‘Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat’. Dr Ashok Kumar Khurana, head, Department of Punjabi, warmly welcomed Dr Brar, recognising her significant contribution to Punjabi culture and arts. Principal Rajesh Kumar shared his words in the context of languages referencing passages from the Guru Granth Sahib regarding the importance of languages. He also praised Dr Brar for her dedication and contribution to Punjabi culture and arts. Dr Ekjot Kaur also highlighted Sukhminder Kaur Brar’s achievements through a video projector. Brar engaged in discussions about Punjab, Punjabi culture, and Punjabi identity. She described Punjab as a province of communal harmony and asserted that it is a land that expresses itself through its diversity. She inspired young students to pursue quality education and actively participate in cultural events.
PCM SD College for Women
The S Ramanujan Society of Mathematics organised extempore competition at PCM SD College for Women. The competition was organised to give an opportunity to students to display their presentation skills. The topics of the event were not only based upon mathematics but also from real life situations. Students of BA/ BSc semester II, semester IV and semester VI participated in the event with full enthusiasm. The speeches were evaluated based on criteria such as clarity of explanation, logical coherence, and overall presentation style. Sandesh Preeti of BSc (computer science) semester VI secured the first position, Chandni of BSc (economics) semester IV and Bhavika of BSc (non-medical) semester II made it to second position and Harsimran of BA semester IV bagged the third position. Principal Pooja Prashar congratulated the students and praised the efforts of Department of Mathematics for organising such events for the overall development of students and providing them an opportunity to demonstrate their mathematical prowess as well as hone their public speaking skills.
