The Ayurvedic wing of the district health department has announced that it will organise a total of 15 medical camps to promote the traditional stream of medicines from July 30. These AYUSH camps will provide free Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines to patients, said District Ayurvedic Officer Dr Dinesh Kumar.
He added that each camp will feature an Ayurvedic medicine exhibition where people can learn about various herbs and their benefits. Apart from free consultation and medicine, a yoga camp will also be organised at each AYUSH camp, encouraging people to learn about the benefits of yoga and adopt it in their lives.
Dr Kumar said that the camps will provide information on diet, lifestyle and living conditions to help patients recover with the aid of Ayurveda. As per the schedule announced by the Health Department, a camp would be organised at Ayushman Health Centre (AHC), Harsha Chhina, on July 30, at AHC Attari on August 2, at AHC Sanghna on August 5, at Homeopathic Dispensary, Majitha, on August 6, at Ayurvedic Dispensary, Majitha, on August 12, at Ayurvedic Dispensary, Raiyya, on August 13 and at Ayushman Arogya Kendra, Guru Nanak Dev University, block Verka, on August 14.
Dr Kumar said that a complete list with information about camps in different areas can be checked on the official website of the district administration. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney has also appealed to the residents to take advantage of these camps and get their medical examination done. The camps will also discuss prevention and treatment of various diseases using Ayurveda.
