Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney reviewed the functioning of the Health Department and emphasised upon the need for upgrading health facilities, particularly in villages near the border areas. Sawhney instructed officials to ensure that health facilities are accessible to all people in all areas.

The DC said people in border areas face difficulties in accessing healthcare services and it is the duty of the Health Department to reach out to them.

She reviewed the progress of Aam Aadmi Clinics. These clinics have provided treatment to 24,26,783 people and free lab tests to 4,03,129 individuals in the period from August 15, 2022, to November 2024.

The DC also discussed the tobacco control programme, which has been implemented in the district.
