Amritsar, January 13
The Punjab Police on Saturday recovered a hexacopter drone in Makhanpur Pandori village falling under the Lopoke police station area here.
The drone was recovered from agricultural fields after members of the village defence committee informed the police. No contraband or other material was found from spot.
The police said further investigation was in progress.
This is after a long time that a big hexacopter drone was seized near the border village. At present, smugglers were preferring small quadcopters for sneaking in contraband in smaller quantity.
The police said the forensic analysis of the hexacopter was underway to find out how many sorties it had made across the border fence. He said a probe was also on to identify persons who picked up drugs that might have been smuggled through the drone.
